DINING CENTER INVENTORY

All Highland Valley property such as kitchen equipment is labeled with a permanent number and inventoried at Highland Valley. Smaller items such as dishes, serving utensils, etc., are to be inventoried annually in January. The inventory is to be updated with each new purchase or disposal of inventory. The Nutrition Inventory form is used to document the annual inventory.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS

Kitchen equipment that is owned by Highland Valley will be maintained at Highland Valley’s expense. Maintenance for other equipment is the responsibility of the Council On Aging or landlord, if applicable. In some instances, Highland Valley has agreed to contribute to the cost of maintenance for equipment that it does not own. Regardless of ownership or responsibility, Highland Valley must be contacted before any repair is made for which Highland Valley may be held responsible either wholly or in part. Occasionally, Highland Valley staff may have the expertise to repair equipment, or it may want to use a specific repair service known to have the expertise to fix the problem. Contact Highland Valley before any repairs are made to insure that all repairs are necessary and completed at a reasonable cost.

Routine maintenance such as the cleaning of a coffee maker will be done by Dining Center personnel on a regularly set schedule, or on the direction of Highland Valley kitchen personnel. Service on coffee makers may be initiated by Dining Center personnel without prior approval of Highland Valley. The service company is U. S. Vacuum & Appliance Company, telephone (413) 736-6306. This telephone number is also located on each coffee maker.

SUPPLY ORDERS

Supplies of forms, paper products, beverages, condiments, cleaning supplies, dishes, contribution envelopes and the like are available from Highland Valley. Complete the bottom portion of the “Meal Order Sheet” or the “Inter-Office Communication” form and forward these to Highland Valley in the blue accordion file.
